Silicon is the substance in the concrete we walk on as well as in
the chip propelling cyberspace. Different chemical configurations
of the basic sand - oxygen configuration weave through every aspect
of our lives. Our bodies, our minds are augumented by this element.
The Installation
A concrete pathway was built upon which a female and a male body were
placed.
The paper from the digital print removed, only the pigment remained bonded to the
concrete.
The pathway was surrounded by white noise which was disturbed by the user stepping
onto it and triggering recordings of habeas corpus legalese and
MUD and MOO sleaze.
All the while above the Path, a camera kept track of visitor's movements
and sent the images on to the Web.
A video camera kept an EYE on the concrete body, 24 hours a day.
