History is often embodied in two types of objects, busts and trophies. Bust portraits appear in the entrances to buildings [1][2], in special rooms, and in numerous collections, functioning like family gods or titular deities.

Trophies are equally ubiquitous and even more varied; many departments seriously or jokingly honor the accomplishments of their students, translating their activities into objects. These objects ultimately help us to remember people and events through their commemorative function rather than their utilitarian status.
